In May 2015, Nicolas & Janet Leak founded KAJJN in order for Nicolas to continue his passion for engineering following his retirement from the Royal Canadian Navy.

Initially established to provide marine engineering services, KAJJN has grown over the last 5 years. KAJJN is pleased to offer additional services in project and event management, and administrative services. 

As a family run and owned corporation, KAJJN provides both on-site and remote professional services to a wide range of clients.

Nicolas Leak


Nicolas, a graduate in Marine Engineering from the Royal Naval Engineering College and in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University, has a passion for all things related to Marine and Naval Engineering.

Nicolas’ vast level of engineering experience combined with his ongoing extraordinary life experiences has allowed him to develop an open mind and remain current on engineering practices.

Janet Leak

Head of Platform

Janet, a graduate in History from McGill University, has devoted her life to helping and supporting others

Janet’s passion for books and learning has led her to her career as a Children’s Programmer and Public Service Assistant for the City of Ottawa Public Library. 


Jennifer Leak

Project manager

Jennifer, a graduate in Sports Management from Brock University and Sport Business from Leeds Beckett University, has a passion for using sport as a tool of empowerment. 

Living all over the world, including Zambia, Uganda, England and the Northwest Territories in Canada, Jennifer has had many opportunities to manage projects cross culturally, using her position to help empower women and other marginalized groups.

Kathryn Leak

Virtual assistant

Kathryn, a graduate in Global Health from the University of Southampton and in Global Nutrition from McGill University, has a deep passion for international health and development. 

Through her work as a virtual assistant, Kathryn assists small business owners and entrepreneurs to build their businesses and make positive changes in the world.
